CD-ROM Hypertext
For background, we publish a hypertext CD-ROM that indexes
all rules and regulations affecting auditors. This system
has 40,000 screens and 120,000 hand-built links. Each
monthly update adds 4,000 more screens and 15,000 links.
Here's how our runtime programs access such a CD-ROM:
HyperRez - Because HyperRez includes a "CD path" command
for changing directories, you can start a
system from a floppy, change to a hard disk,
then change again to the CD-ROM. In addition,
the LEFT key backsteps between all directory
changes... meaning HyperRez easily accesses
information on a CD-ROM regardless of the path.
Hyplus - Hyplus functions identical to HyperRez.
PC-Hypertext - Because PC-Hypertext does not have a change
directory command, we've use a special version
that automatically finds the CD-ROM drive
regardless of the path. Call for details
